Terms of Service | LDS Sitters

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using LDS Sitters ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Platform. LDS Sitters reserves the right to update these terms at any time.

2. Platform Description

LDS Sitters is a marketplace that connects families seeking childcare with background-checked caregivers. The Platform facilitates introductions, bookings, and payments between families and caregivers. LDS Sitters is not an employer of caregivers and does not provide childcare services directly.

3. User Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information as needed.

4. Background Checks

All caregivers on LDS Sitters must complete a background check through our third-party partner, Checkr. While we require background checks, we cannot guarantee the accuracy or completeness of background check results. Families are encouraged to conduct their own due diligence when selecting a caregiver.

5. Payments and Fees

All payments are processed through Stripe. A 20% platform fee is applied to each booking. The remaining 80% is paid directly to the caregiver via Stripe Connect. Payments are authorized at the time of booking confirmation and captured upon completion. Refund policies are based on cancellation timing as outlined in our cancellation policy.

6. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the booking start time receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the booking start time are subject to a 50% charge. No refund is issued for cancellations made after the scheduled start time. Disputes must be filed within 48 hours of booking completion.

7. User Conduct

You agree to use the Platform in a lawful manner and not to: provide false or misleading information; harass, abuse, or harm other users; use the Platform for any illegal purpose; attempt to circumvent the Platform's payment system; or interfere with the Platform's operation.

8. Limitation of Liability

LDS Sitters acts as a marketplace facilitator and is not responsible for the actions of individual caregivers or families. To the maximum extent permitted by law, LDS Sitters shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform or any interactions with other users.

9. Religious Affiliation

LDS Sitters is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Caregiver religious affiliation is self-reported and not independently verified by the Platform. The Platform does not discriminate against any user based on religion, race, gender, or any other protected class.

10. Termination

LDS Sitters reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. You may close your account at any time through your account settings.
